Welcome to Butterflies Are Free to Fly

We are a community center dedicated to empowering under-resourced and at-risk children. We provide a variety of life-enhancing skill-building opportunities, including music, dance, art, sewing, and life coaching. Our mission is to uncover hidden talents and offer enriching experiences that may otherwise be out of reach due to systemic barriers. Join us in nurturing creativity and resilience in our young learners!

Mission

" We exist to guide at-risk children from pain to purpose, using the transformative power of the arts, mentorship, and community to help them discover their beauty, strength, and freedom."

Vision

"To create a world where every child can rise above their circumstances, unlock their gifts, and transform their pain into purpose, free to fly into a future filled with beauty, belonging, and possibility."

Transformation

We believe that no story is final. Through support, love, and opportunity, children can transform pain into purpose and emerge stronger than they came.

Connection

Every child deserves to be seen, heard, and valued. We meet each individual where

they are with empathy, patience, and trust.

Creative Expression

Music, art, movement, and hands-on learning are more than activities; they are tools of liberation, identity, and self-worth.

Dignity & Belonging

We create safe, inclusive spaces where all children, regardless of background, are

treated with dignity and made to feel they belong.

Community

Healing happens in community. We foster connections between peers, mentors, and

families to break cycles of loneliness and generational trauma

Values

Meet Our Founder

My name is Jennifer Lever, and for more than 35 years, I’ve dedicated my life to working with children as a childcare center owner, a foster parent, a ministry leader, and a passionate advocate for youth. I’ve had the privilege of serving as Department Head for Children’s Church at the largest congregation in New Hampshire for 12 years, where I helped lay spiritual foundations in the lives of hundreds of children.

Early on, I combined my love for the arts with my heart for young people as the original choreographer for Joshua Generation, an evangelical youth performing arts group. That program eventually became part of Youth With A Mission (YWAM), a global youth organization active in over 180 countries.

Throughout my journey, my heart has remained especially close to at-risk children, those navigating difficult environments, struggling to find their voice, or questioning their worth.

I believe every child carries a God-given purpose, and it’s my mission to help them discover and walk boldly in it. That’s why I founded Butterflies Are Free to Fly—a nonprofit organization designed to help children uncover their unique talents and use them to bring positive change to the world around them. This project is about more than creativity or performance—it's about identity, purpose, and transformation. It’s about reminding every child that there is everything right about them, and nothing wrong with them.

Through mentoring, creative programs, and community outreach, Butterflies Are Free to Fly aims to lift up the next generation and give them the tools to rise above their surroundings and fly freely into the future they were created for.
